Numeric IP address

A numeric IP address refers to the numerical designation assigned to the server where the website’s data is stored. Every device connected to the internet, including web servers, is assigned an IP address. When you enter a website’s domain name (like www.threshold.tech) in your browser, the Domain Name System (DNS) translates that domain name into its corresponding numeric IP address (such as 192.168.1.1 for IPv4 or 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334 for IPv6). This process allows your browser to locate and connect to the server hosting the website’s content.

The numeric IP address is crucial for routing internet traffic and ensuring that users can access websites through user-friendly domain names rather than having to remember and enter long sequences of numbers.
